Limited Capacity seats available

Participants will:
• Practice using graphical reasoning for a range of mathematical problems encountered in Math I through Math III focused on the following two standards: A) identifying equivalent expressions B) solving equations
• Critically analyze the common cultural stories about calculators that interfere with the strategic use of the tool in our classrooms and test out different stories that support the strategic use of graphing calculators in our mathematics classrooms
• Identify the prerequisite skills (related to both content and calculator use) students will need in order to apply graphical reasoning to the focus standards
• Discuss the ways that centering graphical reasoning as a tool allows for meaningful differentiation in classrooms
• Discuss potential timelines within the curriculum for incorporating graphical reasoning that will maximize the benefit
• Leave with a set of essential basic key codes for strategically using calculators (Fraction, Log base, Absolute Value, Intersect, Max/Min, Zero, Window, Table Set)
